Making Libratone's website beautifully bold

Libratone’s creativity and bold ideas result in innovative, high-end audio technology - they just needed a website to match.

Umbraco CMS

Libratone decided it was time to deal with some headaches their website was suffering from - such as the sluggish speed of the loading and the overly complex CMS and e-commerce platform - resulting in high maintenance costs and functionality development costs. The company also had different websites for the different global markets. In exciting times of business thriving and entering new markets, a continuously more complex website setup was the natural next step/all that was missing.
Libratone’s ambition was to build a truly global website that was also more in tune with the shifted strategy for online presence, focusing more on online branding, storytelling and sales happening both on and offline. It needed to become a global multi-domain and multi-language website, meeting the highest possible standards of technology, UX and design - entirely in line with what the brand represents. They were also looking for a powerful, scalable and flexible CMS with an easily maintainable back end that would be accessible from all regions.

Our approach

After going over the specific needs of Libratone with our magnifying glasses and microscope Making Waves and Hello Great Works (a Danish design partner within the North Alliance) joined forces. The result of our collaboration, was us delivering a website with a cutting-edge user experience, and smashing this together with a combination of appealing looks, a slick Scandinavian design and a bold presentation of the Libratone products. Due to our expertise on CMS platforms, we tugged their sleeve and recommended working with Umbraco, a Danish CMS platform. This turned out to be a match made in heaven, meeting the requirements of Libratone. The CMS adopts a modular approach, and is modern, flexible, accessible worldwide and easy to use for editors with no technical background. The website’s excellence was acknowledged when, on 15 September 2018, was selected website of the day by, a global online platform for digital professionals, who rate websites in terms of design, usability and user experience.

The outcome

The project was a joint venture between Making Waves, that brought the technical expertise, and Hello Great Works, that took care of the design side of the project. This multidisciplinary Polish-Danish dream team, collaborating within the North Alliance group, turned out to be the perfect setup for providing Libratone a tailored solution for their needs.
We worked in an agile environment, with our arm around the client’s shoulders to make sure we got a full understanding of what they truly wanted. Thanks to this - and the solid cooperation with Hello Great Works - we delivered a high quality product within a tight time frame. The website has greatly improved customer experience as well as highly simplified the content management process. Making Waves, Hello Great Works and Libratone are sticking together, continuing our collaboration and planning the next phase of the development for 2019.
